Mechanical and composite design has long been a core service delivered by D2H. Since inception we have been involved in high-profile, high-value projects and have supported our clients from our base in Buckingham, UK.
As a company philosophy we only use the best tools for the job. We have employed industry-leading Siemens software in design and analysis for many years due to the vast suite of tools on offer, ensuring that we provide only the highest quality engineering information to our clients or manufacturing partners.
We use the best 3D CAD software for engineering and freeform surface design, specialist simulation tools for complex kinematic motion analysis, and finite element analysis tools such as NASTRAN to optimise designs for mass and stiffness or validate for structural integrity.
Our mechanical engineering capabilities have encompassed a broad range of projects over the years. From missile test systems through to electrospinning machines, hypercar suspension to racing yacht hydraulics, all requiring precision-machined, cast and fabricated components alongside additive manufactured components. Our experience across many disciplines allows D2H to adapt and support our clients in a wide variety of industries, bringing new approaches and skills to wherever they can be most effective.
Our experience in composite design has grown from a long history at the pinnacle of motorsport engineering, providing design and engineering support for safety critical, lightweight structures. As mass efficiency becomes ever more critical in transport applications and the wider world, our skills in composite engineering have been employed in projects such as ensuring robust battery enclosures for road vehicles meet their stringent design targets, or to assist in the development of new global safety standards for competition seats.
